AuraDisplay is a notification light app for Android phones that turns the front camera ring or screen edge into a visual indicator. Each notification can be displayed with a specific color and animation, allowing users to identify the app that sent the notification through the light on the lock screen, home screen, or always-on display.
Two light styles for each app
The app provides two main modes that can be selected for each app. The first mode displays a light ring around the camera hole, pill-shaped camera, or screen notch. The second mode makes the light travel around the entire screen frame and does not depend on the presence of a camera hole. With these options, the notification display can be adapted to the device’s screen shape.

Color and animation settings

The premium feature also includes contact-based colors for several messaging and social networking apps, including WhatsApp, Google Messages, Samsung Messages, Telegram, Viber, Messenger, and Instagram. Light from multiple apps can be displayed in up to three layers, either concentrically on the ring or in tiers from the screen edge inward.
Display on the lock screen and always-on display
The notification light can appear when the device is locked or unlocked. On AMOLED-based always-on displays, the light is shown statically so it remains visible as a notification indicator. The app also provides a timer to automatically fade the light, a daily quiet period to disable the light at certain times, and reduced intensity when the battery level falls below 30 percent.
In addition to notifications, a charging indicator is available. On devices with a camera hole, this indicator appears as a ring around the camera. On devices without a camera cutout, charging is displayed as a light-filled indicator along the screen frame.
Notification detection and initial setup
AuraDisplay uses a notification listener service to detect incoming notifications, then displays an indicator around the camera or along the screen edge. During the initial setup, the self-test feature can send a test notification so the light display can be checked before app setup is completed. The app also uses an accessibility service to manage the always-on display layer on the lock screen.
