About Cytus II
Cytus II is set in cyberspace, where music is an important part of everyday life. The story centers on Æsir, a famous DJ who can influence listeners’ emotions and attract attention from people around the world.
The announcement of Æsir’s major concert, along with his promise to reveal his face, makes the DJ’s identity the central mystery. The storyline in the second installment is clearer while retaining the close connection between the characters, story, and songs that defines the series.
Cytus II Gameplay
Each level uses a song as the playing field. You need to tap the colored notes when the scan line crosses the correct position, making timing and the ability to follow the rhythm key to your performance.
You can start with simple challenges to learn the note patterns, then choose more demanding songs and difficulty levels. As the tempo and note frequency increase, you must determine when to tap and move between patterns to keep your gameplay in sync with the music.
Cytus II Features
A Mysterious Story About Æsir
The story follows DJ Æsir, who is famous in the virtual world and leaves the public curious about his true identity. The concert he announces drives the story forward while connecting its events to the music being played.
Every Song Becomes a Level
Cytus II builds its levels around songs, so the melody, tempo, and gameplay patterns create different challenges. You can choose music that interests you and gradually learn its note arrangements.
Scan Line Mechanic
Notes must be tapped when the scan line passes the correct point. This system is easy to understand at the beginning of the game but requires concentration and rhythmic precision as the patterns become more complex.
A Diverse Music Selection
The music collection features works from various regions with different genres and levels of complexity. This diversity makes each song feel distinct in both atmosphere and the action patterns you must follow.
Separate Difficulty Levels
Songs are available at several difficulty levels, allowing you to adjust the challenge to your playing ability. At higher levels, the volume and frequency of the music increase, requiring faster and more accurate finger movements.
New Skins and Mechanics
Compared with the first installment, this game adds an expanded music selection, customizable skins, and new mechanics. These updates provide more variety without losing the defining character of the Cytus series.
