VPN Ukraine is a VPN service that helps change the IP address, obtain a Ukrainian IP address, and access websites and applications blocked by ISPs or regional restrictions. A connection can be established with one tap to a Ukrainian server or through a server selected from the list.
VPN connection and server selection
This application provides two ways to connect. The first button connects the device directly to the Ukrainian VPN, while the second uses a server selected from the list. To access a specific website, users can select a server in another country. To obtain a Ukrainian IP address, simply select a server located in Ukraine.
VPN Ukraine uses OpenVPN connection technology with a 2048-bit key generated through OpenSSL, or a reportedly faster Shadowsocks connection. Connection traffic is encrypted using a 2048-bit key. The source also states that this service does not log or store user data.
Regional access and IP address features
- Replaces the current IP address with the VPN server’s IP address.
- Accesses websites and applications blocked by ISPs.
- Accesses content available only in Ukraine, including certain video services or YouTube videos.
- Bypasses region-based blocking by selecting a server in the appropriate country.
- Provides anonymous access to websites and applications, according to the service description.
- Supports torrenting in the PRO version.
Server network and automatic search
Most of the server collection is located in Ukraine, with other locations in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Russia, the United States, and Singapore. The PRO version also includes countries such as Malaysia, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil, Spain, and other locations. The server base is said to continue expanding across various regions.
The application can search for the nearest server to help achieve better speeds, or find the server with the fewest connections. This option provides an alternative when a particular server has too many users.
Differences between the free and PRO services
The free service is available at no cost and does not require user registration. The source states that there are no traffic restrictions and that all types of connections are supported. Free servers include advertisements and may have 10 to 30 times more users than PRO servers, so their speed may be affected when the servers are crowded.
PRO servers are designed to have fewer clients, usually around three to five clients per server. If the number exceeds 10, a new server is reportedly provided. The PRO version also includes additional locations and offers a seven-day free trial period.
